Cerner Selects Oracle Enterprise Manager to Support New Cloud Services
News Facts
- To support managed services dedicated to the optimization of business processes for health care organizations, Cerner, one of the largest strategic global health care companies, has implemented Oracle Enterprise Manager.
- With a growing client base that includes more than 9,000 facilities worldwide, Cerner decided to leverage its operational knowledge within a cloud infrastructure to support its mission of eliminating error, variance and waste for health care providers and consumers, and to generate additional revenue.
- By building on its existing managed service offerings with new cloud based services supported by Oracle Enterprise Manager, Cerner has been able to reduce capital investments by $9.5 million while also offering its clients a new suite of on-demand infrastructure and software including messaging, storage and virtual desktop capabilities.
- Oracle Enterprise Manager’s business-driven IT management capabilities support the new Cerner Skybox public cloud solutions that include Cerner’s Oracle Database powered Skybox DB Central™ offering, a service to extend Cerner's internal database assets and heath care IT expertise to their clients.
- Oracle Enterprise Manager’s simplified management environment allows the Cerner team to monitor and manage the experience of its clients, their business transactions and application interactions from one management console, enabling preventative actions that have reduced database incidents by 50 percent and allowed 17 percent of problems to be identified without DBA intervention.
- By providing integrated application-to-disk management capabilities for public and private clouds, Oracle Enterprise Manager has enabled Cerner to improve the ROI on its existing IT infrastructure and pursue new business opportunities without incurring incremental IT costs.
